A Rossville Consolidated School District is searching for a second shift custodian. A custodian at Rossville Schools has the primary responsibility to ensure that his/her area of responsibility within the school facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. This responsibility includes floor care, general cleaning, trash removal, facility set-up, snow removal, minor maintenance, and some lifting. The custodian works with a second shift team consisting of five individuals that clean classrooms, set-up for extra events, and interact with students and adults in a variety of situations. The shift is from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with overtime possible on weekends. The corporation base pay is $12.00 but that may be adjusted due to experience and qualifications. Additionally, the corporation does provide benefits such as contribution to health insurance, life insurance, and long term disability insurance. Vacation days are provided after a period of service. Qualifications for a custodian shall include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), be able to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs. and be able to operate floor care equipment, such as sweepers, buffers, and automatic floor cleaners. This person should be able to appropriately interact with all age levels, children to adult.
